Carter knows that he doesn't want to waste his life watching his uncle steal from perfectly nice people, so thats why he decides to run away. After running away from his mean uncle, Carter never expected to find friends and amazing magic in a tiny, quiet, New England town. But he had no idea that trouble would follow him. When evil B B. Basso and his crew arrive, Carter discovers that they are mad stealing machines. But things get bigger when B. B. Basso tries to switch the largest diamond with a fake one. Mean Mr. Basso doesn't know that Carter and his team of friends aren't falling for his nasty tricks. This magic filled book has some tricks up its sleeve as the Magic Misfits continue their adventure. This book is definitely an amazing book, but it did not have me as hooked as the other books i have reviewed. This book is still a great book, but it was definitely not my all time favorite. Ages: 8-13 Stars: 5 Saturdays are often said to be ''the best day of the week'', yet there usually not much to do. But with the Melendy children, its a whole different story. When the four Melendy children agree on Randy's idea for a club, they decide to name it the Independent Saturday Afternoon Adventure Club( I.S.A.A.C.). Each Saturday they add their allowances together so they each can have at least one memorable Saturday. Some problems quickly appear, and whether its a fire or spending the summer at a lighthouse with no light, the family of six will always stick together. This heartwarming book will fill your eyes with tears, but also have you giggling as the Saturdays story continues. This book is a book I have read a few times because I love it so much. It's the most heartwarming book. If you liked Land of Stories or the Vanderbeekers, you will definitely cherish this book forever. Happy Reading! Author: Peg Kehret
Ages: 8-12 Stars: 5! Genre: Action/Adventure Amy's babysitting course taught everything from first aid to putting a child to bed, but she never learned what to do if two kidnappers with a gun show up, intending on kidnapping you and your charge. Amy had heard about kidnapped children on TV, but she never even imagined that it would happen to her. To make matters worse, Amy is babysitting three-year-old Kendra at the time. Chocolate for all meals might sound good to you, but its not what a three or a fourteen year old should have as a diet. Or crackers and marshmallows. This tragic adventure tells the tale of an amazing girl who risks her life to save the child in her care, although she has been through a lot herself. This cliff hanging suspense filled book will have you on the edge of your seat as the thrilling adventure continues. This book just amazed me as every page turned. I was under the covers with a flashlight reading this book through the night. Peg Kehret amazes me with not only this book, but also other books like Earthquake Terror or Trapped! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did! Happy Reading! Stars: 5 out of 5
Author: Karina Yan Glaser Ages: 9 -13 Life isn’t always joyful around the holidays, and the Vanderbeekers know it. It’s bad news when the family of seven, The Vanderbeekers, find out their landlord won’t renew the lease for their apartment. The five children try to purseade evil Mr. Beiderman to let them stay they know they only have until New Years, and it’s 5 days until Christmas, not leaving them much time. As the children try in many different ways to get him to renew their lease, they learn that mean Mr. Beiderman has had a hard past. The children learn important lessons along the way, including to try and try again. This beautifully written story will have you laughing, and crying as the Vanderbeekers story unfolds. This is one of my favorite books. The way the story is written just amazing. This book is definitely for people who like family or sibling adventures, like The Land Of Stories or All-of-a-Kind family. I personally loved this book because it had a really great storyline. I hope you guys like the book as much as I did. Happy Reading! Stars: 4 1/2
Author: Chris Colfer Ages: 9-13 Genre: Fantasy Alex and Connor never expected to fall through a book, especially one that has been in their family for generations. Alex has never had any friends, is her teacher's pet and loves fairy tales. Connor, on the other hand, has many friends, falls asleep in class and constantly is getting detention. But, they both have a love of fairy tales, miss their dad and the stories he used to tell. This book will have you holding your breath as the tragic, and magic story continues. This book was definitely a really good book. This was one of the only books that's been recommended to me by my friends. They all thought this series of seven books was a really great collection of books. Please don't judge this book by the size. You absolutely will love it! Happy Reading! Stars: 4 1/2
Author: Isla Fischer Ages: 7-11 No one expected Marge to be as crazy as she was, especially not seven year old Jemima or four year old Jake. Jemima and Jake are a brother and sister who have never had a babysitter before. But anyone knows Marge is no ordinary sitter. With chocolate soup for dinner or spending the day at the kid's school, Marge can be a bit, well, different. Jemima and Jake discover that Marge loves to have fun, even if that means bending the rules. Which Marge does all the time. This thrilling book gets you laughing out loud as the Adventures with Marge in Charge continue. I really liked this book. This is definitely a book if your having a bad day or just need a little giggle. I needed a laugh one day and i read this book in one day because |
